PhD applications
Our group admits students via the regular PhD programme and the Joint PhD programmes every year. If you are interested in joining us, please first contact us with your CV, transcripts, and any other materials to demonstrate your capabilities, i.e. publications, awards, projects, etc.

- Joint PhD programmes: City University has signed Joint PhD agreements with over 20 Chinese universities (e.g. UCAS, USTC, Fudan, BUAA, HIT, etc.) Upon completion of this programme, you will obtain your home university’s PhD degree and the CityU’s PhD degree within the same normal period of study. Applications will be open in early November for the commencement of the joint PhD programme in September of the following year, and the deadline is usually set in mid-January. For more details, please approach your home university.

We recruit Postdocs all year round. In addition to project-based recruitment, highly qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for the RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (PDFS).

Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Candidates for “Physics-informed generative methods of aircraft trajectory for terminal airspace design evaluation” & “Big Data Analytics for Smart Transportation Method in Shenzhen”
We are seeking PhD candidates and Postdoctoral Researchers to join our project on Industrial Intelligence. This research integrates Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Advanced Control Systems to revolutionize industrial process optimization and drive new energy transformation.
About the Project
Our work focuses on:
- Adaptive Control Strategies: Developing advanced algorithms (e.g., PID, MPC) to optimize business and environmental metrics.
- AI Frameworks for Integration: Bridging business intelligence with operational control for smarter decisions.
- Industrial Optimization: Combining industrial processes, expert knowledge, and real-time control for enhanced efficiency.
Available Positions
PhD Candidates:
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
- Focus: Independent research, publishing, and advancing methodologies.
Postdoctoral Researchers:
- PhD in a relevant field with prior research experience.
